Learning to effectively navigate conflict is a critical leadership skill.  During this virtual session participants will identify their preferred way of dealing with conflict. Each individual will explore how their conflict resolution style resides within their perspective of conflict. Conflict arises from unresolved problems, and leaders can make improvements within teams and in their organizations and in themselves.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Describe the driving factors of conflict in the health care workplace.
  • Discuss the role that conflict has with leadership and performance.
  • Outline different conflict styles in the health care environment.

SPEAKER
 
Mike Freel, Ph.D., is the health care program director at Bellevue University’s College of Arts and Sciences. He has a professional health care background and experience in corporate organization and employee development. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Education Advisory Group for the Nebraska Hospital Association. He earned his doctorate in human resources development, focusing on leadership and organizational change, from the University of Nebraska.
